Studies from Reed Consulting show that 34% of job applicants switch brand loyalty following a negative experience with a prospective employer.
The research also revealed that almost a quarter of the 2,500 people polled turned down a job offer because of an organisation’s behaviour during the recruitment process.
Becky Remington, head of graduate services at Reed Consulting, said: ‘This is a real wake-up call for organisations, which often forget that potential employees can also be existing or potential customers.
‘Employers need to ensure that every part of their recruitment process runs smoothly from attraction through to the final offer stage to protect their business’s performance and employer brand.’
