New defleet service launched

A new insurance policy has been launched to smooth the defleet process for suppliers and fleet managers.

Lease Protect, devised by automotive insurers Reassure plc, is aimed at manufacturers, fleet insurers, leasing companies and other asset owners.

The policy insures the condition of leased vehicles on their return to the owner, according to either manufacturer or BVRLA standards.

Though used by suppliers, Reasuure plc hopes the policy will help supplier/customer relations and help to inform fleets so that company car drivers know what is expected of a vehicle at the end of its contract.

John McLean, director at Reassure plc, said: “Fleet operators benefit from Lease Protect as they have fixed costs for three years in advance and know what condition the vehicle should be returned in, avoiding end-of lease disputes.”
