Rural roads in Hampshire will be patrolled by the county’s police offices in Nissan Navaras following a fleet deal.

The force is taking on nine of the vehicles, replacing its existing Terranos.

Hampshire Constabulary fleet manager John Bradley said: “We have been utilising the Nissan Terrano 2.7 TD over a number of years.

“The vehicles have proved ideal in terms of reliability and performance, but when Terrano production stopped, we had to find a suitable replacement. The Navara fits the bill.”

Mr Bradley said key considerations when choosing new vehicles included carrying capacity, service costs and end user feedback.
