The briefing on corporate manslaughter will be part of a guide to legislation by Philip Somarakis, senior solicitor with Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons. Saul Jeavons, of the Transafe Network, will brief fleets on key risk management techniques in the light of current legislation.

Other fleet issues to be covered include green fleet management, technology, funding, acquisition strategies and training.

Green fuel management will be the focus of Malcolm Noyle, director of Noyle Fleet Solutions, while Nigel Underdown, head of transport energy advice at the Energy Saving Trust, will give best practice advice on green fleet management techniques.

A segment on fleet software, tracking and gadgets will feature a session on in-office technology from Stephen de Launey, from Chevin Fleet Solutions, while Nasir Shah, international sales and marketing director at Jato, will look at trends in vehicle technology.

Taxation will be covered by PricewaterhouseCoopers, and experts from CAP will look at residual values and managing wholelife costs.

There will also be two sessions on where to find help, support and formal training, with speakers from fleet managers’ association ACFO and the Institute of Car Fleet Management.
