Peugeot is hinting at a sexier future with its latest concept car – the 308 RC Z.

The sleek coupe (pictured), which will make its world debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, is aimed squarely at the Audi TT and shows the next step Peugeot is taking with its lower-medium family of cars.

Alongside the existing 308 hatchbacks, expect to see an estate version, a CC coupe-cabriolet and a production version of the RC Z – a two-plus-two coupe at some point in the new two years.

The RC Z is powered by the 1.6-litre THP turbocharged petrol engine which is currently fitted in the 207 GTi, but has been tuned to develop 218bhp through an all-new six-speed manual gearbox.

Peugeot claims the 308 RC Z emits just 160g/km of CO2.
