Shell has outsourced the management of its 2,300 vehicles to fleet management group Alphabet.

Following the agreement, Alphabet will supply business vehicles including an ambulance on contract hire and 2,000 vehicles on the executive fleet on contract purchase.

The group will look after accident management, daily rental, tyre management, relicensing and day-to-day administration.

Shell’s drivers will also be able to configure, price, order and track new vehicles online.

Tim Kensey, senior reward and policy adviser at Shell, explained: “The system allows HR to authorise orders electronically and track fleet details at any point in time. This means that we are no longer reliant on receiving or asking for management information. We can get it immediately whenever we need to.”
