British motorists fail simple road tests

 A new study by Total UK in partnership with the Local Authority Road Safety Officers’ Association has found British motorists cannot answer simple questions from the Highway Code.

Seventy-six per cent did not know the correct stopping distance when travelling at 40mph and 46% were unable to correctly answer half of the questions.
