DHL trials new hybrids

DHL has announced the trial of two Daimler hybrid vehicles in its Express and Logistics operations.

Two Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid vehicles will be trialled as part of the company’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.

“This initiative reinforces DHL’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its business operations,” said John Finn, fleet director DHL.

“By using new technology and innovation we are demonstrating the important steps we are taking in the fight against climate change.”

It is anticipated that the two 7.5 tonne vehicles, which run on hybrid diesel-electric engines, will use up to 20% less fuel than conventional gasoline or diesel vehicles which will also lead to a reduction in each vehicle’s CO2 emissions.
