Audi has unveiled a new engine for the A5, as well as a new limited edition A6.

The 2.0 TFSI engine will be available from August in A5s with either front or Quattro all-wheel-drive, costing from £28,760.

Boasting 208bhp, the unit is derived from the existing 1.8 TFSI engine recently introduced in the A3, A4 and A5 ranges.
But the new engine introduces valvelift technology that allows more effective airflow and efficiency.

A5s fitted with the new engine will hit 62mph in 6.9 seconds and record a combined mpg of 42.8.

Meanwhile, the A6 2.0 TDI saloon and Avant is now available in Limited Edition trim.

Based on the SE specification the new trim level has £3,725-worth of extra equipment, including 18-inch alloys, leather interior and a DVD satellite navigation system.

It costs £26,670 in saloon form or £28,240 as an Avant, £875 more than the equivalent SE models.
