Thrifty correction

Last week Fleet News mistakenly stated that the UK Thrifty operation is part-owned by the US-based Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group (DTAG).

We have been asked to point out that the UK operation is wholly owned by The Scot Group Ltd.

A spokeswoman for Thrifty UK said: “DTAG do not own any part of Thrifty’s UK operation.

“Thrifty UK’s HQ is based in Exeter with a further central office in High Wycombe and the main vehicle refurbishment site located in Nuneaton.

“Thrifty currently operates out of 90 rental locations nationwide with a fleet of some 16,000 vehicles including a full range of cars, commercial, prestige and 4x4 vehicles and continues to expand by opening new locations in key areas."
