Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions has appointed WNS Assistance to support its fleet with services including first notification of loss, replacement vehicle facility and repair, via a system integrated national network of more than 380 approved repairers.

Further benefits for Hitachi Capital’s customers include access to a panel of solicitors in the case of personal injury, credit hire services, uninsured loss recovery and third party capture services.

Tim Bowden, head of operations at Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, explained: “During the tender and selection process, WNS displayed a professional, flexible approach and a clear desire to develop a business partnership with us. We were confident that a combination of their cost control processes, network management standards, wide range of services and comprehensive MI capability would make a good fit for our business and our customers.”

He continued: “WNS provide access to a large repairer network, ensuring that our customers are never far away from an approved repairer. This also includes HGV expertise which is important to us because of our specialist Commercial Vehicle division. WNS’ purchasing power and cost control processes enable us to demonstrate reduced repair costs and savings on downtime, both of which are critical factors for our customers’ and our commitment to work in partnership to drive down fleet costs.”

Tim Rankin, WNS Assistance managing director, said: ‘‘WNS is delighted to put our accident management expertise into practice for one of the UK’s leading vehicle funding and fleet management specialists’’.

He concluded: ‘‘ The deal with Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions underlines just how important established accident management companies like WNS Assistance can be in helping to significantly reduce costs and minimise the disruption experienced by fleet customers in the event of an accident.’’
