BEN have recently launched Dealers backing BEN to follow on the success achieved with its unique fund raising initiative Fleet Disposal Contribution Plan (FDCP). In order to achieve consistency and to widen its appeal the FDCP has been renamed Fleets Backing BEN which has its own unique logo.

The Fleets Backing BEN initiative has already seen 12 of the UK's top 50 Contract Hire companies sign up, including ING and Leaseplan.

BEN’s head of national development, Nigel Williams, said; “The fleet sector has shown a real appetite to support its industry charity through participating in this easy to administer initiative. In addition to those participants, we are also grateful to the auction houses who are central to the success of Fleets Backing BEN. The development of sustainable income streams is particularly important to BEN and this is a great example of key automotive sectors working together to support BEN with a solid base for its future and the future of industry employees.” He added “The introduction of a similar initiative in the retail sector means we can now see a friendly competitive element emerging as the two sectors compete to contribute to their industry charity!”

David Brennan, managing director of Leaseplan UK commented, “When I was approached by BEN about this new fundraising initiative I had no hesitation in pledging my support to our industry charity.  Although BEN are only receiving a small amount on each vehicle, collectively, it goes a long way to help support our employees and their families when they need it most.”

ING Car Lease were one of the first companies to sign up to the initiative and Ian Tilbrook, managing director, remarked; “We’ve always supported BEN at ING but when I had this initiative explained to me it was clear that this was going to be a really efficient way to provide regular support to the Industry Charity – I would encourage others companies in the contract hire sector to give consideration to joining the scheme which, after all, supports those most in need from our industry”
