The Czech ambassador to the United Kingdom Michael Zantovsky has chosen a Škoda Superb as his diplomatic vehicle, in recognition of the manufacturer’s Czech heritage.

Due to Zantovsky’s diplomatic status, the Škoda Superb hatchback will wear the diplomatic number plate CZE 1 and the red, white and blue national flag of the Czech Republic. The car will also be used to carry Czech ministers while on official state business in the UK.

“Škoda is an iconic Czech brand and I’m proud to show my support,” said Zantovsky. “The Superb model boasts excellent design and comfort levels, in addition to a competitive price, so it was an obvious choice for the Embassy.”

Martin Burke, head of fleet sales at Škoda, added: “We are very proud of our heritage and delighted to mark our special relationship with the Czech Republic by providing Mr Zantovsky with a Superb.

“The Ambassador was previously driven in a BMW, however we were able to demonstrate the substantial economic benefits of the Superb model. In addition, the vehicle offers both drivers and passengers executive levels of equipment, technology and build quality so we’re confident it will exceed the expectations of the Embassy.”
