Audi's new Q3 compact crossover car will be priced from £24,560 when order books open in June.

Available as either front-wheel drive and Quattro all-wheel drive versions, Audi will offer petrol versions in the UK as well as diesel.

Slightly longer than the A3 Sportback, but taller and wider, the Q3 made its public debut in the Shanghai motor show in April and will rival the BMW X1.

Deliveries of Quattro versions will begin in November, while front-wheel drive diesel models will be available for customers in December.

Diesel versions will be powered by a 2.0-litre engine, producing 140bhp in front-wheel drive versions allowing them to achieve 54mpg on the combined cycle and CO₂ emissions of 135g/km.

The 2.0 TDI Quattro models produce 177bhp, come with Audi's seven-speed S-tronic double-clutch automatic transmission and have CO₂ emissions of 158g/km.

The all-Quattro petrol line-up is offered with a choice of 170bhp and 211bhp 2.0-litre TFSI engines, the higher power versions featuring S-tronic.

SE models come with with 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome window trims, aluminium roof rails and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a Concert audio system with 6.5-inch manually retractable colour display screen, Bluetooth interface, Audi Music Interface iPod connection and light and rain sensors.

SE models come with 'navigation preparation' allowing customers to choose satellite navigatino retrospectively by buying an SD card.

S line models have 18-inch alloy wheels, S line exterior and interior styling enhancements and xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and LED rear tail lights.

Other options include adaptive light technology for the xenon plus headlights, a high-beam assistant, the hard drive-based navigation system plus with seven-inch colour screen and 3D mapping and the side assist blind spot warning and lane assist lane departure warning driver aids.
