The on-the-road price for the Pegueot Ion and Citroën C-Zero has been reduced to £21,216 (after the Government’s £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant) with contract hire rates reduced to £249 a month over a three-year term.

To support the new price positioning Citroën is also increasing the size and coverage of its electric vehicle (EV) specialist dealer network.

The EV specialist sales network will increase from 11 to 21 dealers. The additional 10 sites will be located in UK cities not covered by the original Citroen EV network.

Citroën has also confirmed that the aftersales EV network will be extended from the 11 initial specialist dealers to a network of around 100 locations over the coming months.

All of the newly appointed EV service dealers have already received specialist training as part of the DS5 Hybrid4 launch, allowing them to service and repair C-Zero and future Citroën EV models.

Peugeot’s EV coverage extends to 23 sales and service points in key locations.

Both manufacturers will expand their EV range next year with the introduction of a new electric Partner van from Peugeot and a new electric Berlingo van from Citroën.

Both vans will qualify for the Government’s electric vehicle grant, with a maximum of £8,000 support towards the purchase price of electric commercial vehicles.
