Zenith has been awarded the North East region’s ‘Large Buyout Management Team of the Year Award’ in the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Management Team Awards 2012.

The BVCA Management Team Awards follow a year-long process of regional and national nominations and judging, established to highlight and celebrate the achievements of Private Equity and Venture Capital backed companies.

The award recognises the Zenith management team's contribution to the growth of the company, demonstrating strategic vision and overall development of the business.

As a regional winner Zenith is automatically entered for selection for the national award, which will be announced on 5th July 2012 at a ceremony at The Lancaster Hotel in London and attended by private equity and venture capital professionals.

Tim Buchan, Zenith’s chief executive officer, commented: “The award is further acknowledgement of Zenith’s growth, development and strategy for the future, including our innovative funding structures, product development, investment in our people and our ability to retain and win new customers. Once again the hard work of the Zenith team and our strong business model has been recognised and rewarded.”

Ian Marwood, chair of the North East judging panel and a partner at Grant Thornton, said: “What this process has shown is that Yorkshire and the North East have some really exciting businesses which are making a real impact on the global stage. The combination of high quality management teams with the funding and strategic support of private equity is allowing those companies to adapt their business models to address the opportunities provided by dynamic markets and deliver real success, even in times of economic uncertainty. I congratulate all our winners but also commend the management teams at all the shortlisted companies, all of whom are making a real difference.”

This is the second time Zenith has won a BVCA Award. In 2009 Andrew Cope was winner of the North East Private Equity Backed CEO of the Year.
