Agent Orange, the fast-growing environmental services provider for Greater London and the Home Counties, is adopting a new driver behaviour and vehicle tracking solution from Ctrack to target operational and cost improvements within its fleet.

Under the five-year deal, the company will install the system across 71 vans with the aim of reducing annual fuel usage by 10% and vehicle accidents by 20%.

Ctrack has been working with Agent Orange for the past six years and has developed this new solution which combines driver behaviour monitoring with its latest tracking technology.

As a result, the company will combine the web-based system Ctrack Online with an advanced driver behaviour tool and mobile application to maximise visibility and control over the fleet operation.

Each van will be fitted with a Driver Behaviour Indicator (DBI), an in-vehicle device that alerts drivers to any infringements when on the road by displaying a series of traffic-light coloured warning lights.

This will be used alongside the CDrive management and reporting system that is designed to improve fleet performance, reduce fuel consumption and enhance driver safety by providing added insight into how the business drives.

Office-based managers and schedulers will access the Ctrack solution from Agent Orange’s headquarters in Brentford to monitor performance and use real-time positioning and traffic flow data to identify the nearest vehicle to a job, support effective routing and provide expected arrival times to customers.

Meanwhile, using the recently launched mobi2 application it will now also be possible to gain instant access to valuable tracking information direct from a smartphone or tablet when employees are away from the desk and on the move.

Gulliver Hill, managing director at Agent Orange, said: “We have grown rapidly in past few years and now work for the majority of local authorities and housing associations within Greater London along with a wide range of construction firms, FM companies and commercial organisations.

“Ctrack has developed a tracking solution that will enable us to better serve these customers, whilst reducing our cost base as margins continue to be squeezed in the challenging economic climate.”

John Wisdom, managing director of Ctrack, said: “We possess the most extensive range of tracking technology currently available in the marketplace, which is enabling us to provide complete solutions that meet the precise business and operational requirements of our customers.

“We have worked closely with Agent Orange to expand and upgrade their tracking capability to achieve measurable improvements and savings.”
