Although Peugeot’s daily rental sales were up 41% year to date in May Robson expects sales to stay at 2011 levels by year end.

Hybrid sales, meanwhile, are “on track” with the first half of 2012 being about educating people about diesel hybrid, according to Robson.

The revised 107, which now has emissions of 99g/km, will appeal to public sector fleets and salary sacrifice schemes but Robson does not expect a “dramatic” increase in sales this year.

Aftersales initiative

Peugeot has launched an aftersales programme for its business centres called Performers.

It comes as a result of speaking to fleet customers about their aftersales’ requirements.

Peugeot has been working with dealers over the past six to 12 months to put standards in place.

“There’s nothing revolutionary in aftersales,” Robson said. “I think the independents have shown that. It’s about convenience and good value.

“We need to make sure we offer that and that we tell people about our value and the expertise we can offer.”
