Škoda UK welcomes a new addition to its fleet sales team this month, with the appointment of Luke Golder as fleet sales manager for the south and south east of England.

Golder’s appointment sees Škoda boost its team of fleet sales managers from seven to eight – a demonstration of the Czech manufacturer’s continued commitment to fleet sales.

Joining the Škoda UK team from Lombard Vehicle Management, Golder has three years’ experience of fleet management along with a further seven years’ sales experience, having previously worked in the retail department at Royal Bank of Scotland.

In 2011, Škoda UK celebrated a record year in the fleet sector achieving registrations of nearly 22,000, a 31% increase on the previous year, breaking through the 2% market share barrier for the first time.

Now commanding a 2.4% market share YTD, the team is better placed to deliver to an increasingly receptive fleet audience.

In his new position, Golder will support the south and south east regions of the UK, focusing on businesses that have a fleet size in excess of 30 vehicles.

His responsibilities will include raising awareness of Škoda within his regions, and supporting the manufacturer’s dedicated ‘Fit for Fleet’ retailers in the south of England.

Martin Burke, head of fleet sales at Škoda UK, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Luke to our team - with our experienced team of eight fleet sales managers we now have a dedicated manager for every region across the UK.

“This will allow us to continue delivering our market-leading customer service to accommodate the needs of existing fleet customers, whilst continuing to grow our market share.”
