Software provider NetDespatch has helped fine wine merchant Tanners Wines streamline its order fulfilment through integration and money saving automation.

It has enabled Tanners Wines to integrate its Maginus warehouse management system with its parcel carrier Station Couriers, an APC Overnight depot.

The integration allows order details to be transferred instantly and accurately, eliminating the need for manual data entry, reducing administration costs and risk of human error while improving service.

Tanners Wines ships thousands of bottles of wine, champagne and spirits each month and staff had previously been entering consignment details manually, a time consuming process which was prone to human error.

Tanners Wines now utilises NetDespatch’s web-based import and labelling technology (Velocity Connector) to import order data from the Maginus warehouse management system.

This allows labels and shipping documentation to be instantly printed, ready for their local APC Overnight depot to collect.

Tracking information is then available to be viewed online.

Nick Hamer, finance director at TannersWines, said: “Reliable delivery and tracking services are vital in maintaining good customer relations and the integration by NetDespatch with our Maginus warehouse management system is saving us a huge amount of time.

“With an increasing volume of orders, our pick and pack operation was being held up as we tried to cope with data entry.

“Now with automated data export and label printing, improved efficiency and greater address accuracy have really helped boost service levels.”
