Fix Auto UK, a network of car repair bodyshops, has completed its 100,000th repair in a calendar year.

The feat was achieved in early December, surpassing the company’s previous record of 89,000 repairs in a calendar year, which was set in 2012.

The increase in the number of repairs has been achieved through the franchise network’s growing group of repairers which currently stands at 68 bodyshops.

Collectively, the network now repairs more than 2,300 vehicles every week on behalf of major insurance companies and consumer motorists.

The strength of the network could not have been more prevalent in the aftermath of the St Jude’s storm last month when it set another major record for the most repair instructions in a single day when it received more than 1,000 notifications on Monday, November 4, 2013.

Longstanding franchisee Fix Auto Loughborough carried out the actual 100,000th repair, a heavily damaged rear quarter panel and tailgate on a Ford Focus insured by Allianz Insurance and owned by Katherine Wilkinson of Leicester.

Using the very latest workshop technology and techniques over the more traditional repair methods, the damage was repaired and ready for return to Wilkinson within three working days, saving Allianz more than £600 in repair costs.

To commemorate the occasion, Fix Auto UK’s managing director Ian Pugh and Allianz Insurance’s Motor Supplier Relations Controller Simon Law presented Wilkinson with a bunch of flowers and a bottle of champagne during the vehicle handover.

Pugh said: “To repair 100,000 vehicles in a calendar year, with time to spare, is an extraordinary achievement and a major milestone in the development of the business.

“The feat illustrates just how far we’ve come as a business, and how well established Fix Auto is in the UK accident repair market. If ever there was a testimony to the direction in which Fix Auto UK is going and the service we’re delivering to both insurers and motorists alike, then this achievement is it.”
