Enterprise Rent-A-Car has opened a new branch on Heigham Street, Norwich, adding to its network of more than 370 locations throughout the UK.

The new location was opened to deal with increasing demand from local residents and businesses.

This will increase access to rental cars in the city centre, where demand is highest from local customers and also from those travelling to the city by train.

It will be home to eight Enterprise employees and will offer an extensive fleet of cars and light commercial vehicles, seven days a week.

In addition, it brings new employment opportunities. Enterprise is looking to recruit six new management trainees to work at the branch, in addition to relocating experienced employees to help train and mentor local hires .

The new location will also provide local businesses and residents with access to Enterprise’s Pick-Up service, discounted weekend rates, one-way rentals and people carrier hire.

Janene Scurfield, Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s general manager for the East Midlands and East England region, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing more jobs and opportunity to Norwich with the opening of our second branch.

“While our existing Norwich branch is in a great location close to the airport, the new branch on Heigham Street bridges an important gap for customers travelling into Norwich city-centre by public transport.

“We look forward to developing our business and bringing further to benefit individuals and businesses in the area.”

MP Simon Wright for Norwich South said: “Norwich is a busy centre for both business and tourism, creating a large demand for mobility from local residents, employees as well as visitors.

“Car hire is an important local service, and it’s good to see that the rental sector is taking the needs of communities such as Norwich seriously by investing in the number of branches, people and vehicles on the ground in the area.”
