EV driving visitors to the Cenex Low Carbon Vehicle 2013 event will again be offered free recharging while they browse the show, thanks to APT Controls and the Source East Network.
Six fast charging points will be installed at the end of Millbrook’s mile straight, allowing attendees to drive to the event on electricity and leave their car to charge. Cenex LCV2013 will take place on 4th – 5th September 2013 at Millbrook Proving Ground.
The fast charging points come from APT’s Evolt range of electric vehicle charging solutions, which are becoming a common sight up and down the country as they have been supplied to 25 local authorities.
“The Evolt Street is a robust outdoor charger,” says Justin Meyer, Business Development Manager for APT, “and EV drivers attending the event will find them easy to use. The charger is simple to access with an intelligent tamper-proof opening mechanism and a digital display that provides information about energy consumption, charging times and current charge status.”
Source East has a network of 460 charging points across the East of England. Keith Bevis, managing director of Evalu8, which runs the scheme, said: “We are pleased to welcome EV drivers to LCV2013 in our region and are delighted that this year APT Controls is providing these extra charging points so that visitors will be able to arrive in their EVs having confidence that they can re-charge before returning home.
“Complimentary Source East membership will be given to every driver booked to use these visitors charging facilities. This will give them access to other charging points around the East of England.”
Drivers wishing to use this service are asked to email Hannah Burton at email@example.com with their name and which day they will be attending. During the event an APT engineer will be on hand to assist drivers.
