As part of a campaign to increase corporate communication and raise awareness of eyecare issues, Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has launched an e-newsletter for employers.

Jim Lythgow, director of strategic alliances at Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said: "Companies talk about engaging staff and this is, of course, important. We recognise, however, that it is also vital to engage with employers. For an employer to be able to disseminate the facts about the benefits they offer to their staff and to encourage buy-in, they must first be aware of the opportunities and options that exist."

The e-newsletter informs employers of developments within eyecare, such as guides to legislation, research into specific industry sectors and the wider health benefits of eye examinations.  It looks at all areas of corporate eyecare including VDU, health and safety, and driving.  The newsletter will be produced on a regular basis and is issued to clients of Specsavers Corporate Eyecare.

As part of its communications, Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has already produced a series of posters that can be easily downloaded and personalised to help employers publicise their eyecare offering to employees.

Lythgow added: "We aim to cover all three points of the communication triangle between us as the provider, the employer and their employees. The communication needs to flow in all directions and we are working hard to ensure this happens. There will be more developments to come in the near future."
