The BVRLA added three more names to its Industry Heroes roll of honour at a ceremony in the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane last week.

Europcar’s Lorna MacDougall (pictured), Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions’ Steve Leonard and Leasedrive’s Robin Webdell were named as the unsung heroes of 2013.

BVRLA chief executive Gerry Keaney said: “As usual, we were really impressed by the high quality of the nominations, which made it incredibly difficult to pick three winners. The stories of dedication and professionalism show the rental and leasing industry is committed to excellent customer service, and each of our award winners is a tribute to the sector.”

Lorna MacDougall joined the rental industry in 2011 and has had major impact on her company and colleagues. Lorna was nominated for her innovation and dedication in improving the customer care and environmental performance of Europcar’s busy Edinburgh Airport branch.

Steve Leonard was nominated for the relationship he has built with one of Hitachi’s main clients. As technical services executive, Steve’s incredible knowledge and clear communications have delivered major cost savings.

Robin Webdell was recognised as an unsung hero for tripling Leasedrive’s rate of new business appointments per month. He was also cited with revolutionising the company’s strategy when generating new business from marketing campaigns.
