More than 40 companies are in with a chance of winning a Brake Fleet Safety Award, including well-known names, such as Nestlé, BT and E.ON, and smaller local organisations, such as Gateshead Council, Severn Trent Water and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The annual event, sponsored by Arval, recognises the achievements of fleet operators and suppliers who are working hard to reduce road crashes involving at-work drivers.

Brake has received a record number of entries this year.

A full shortlist has now been produced for each category and judges will deliberate over the winners, who will be announced during a  dinner on Thursday June 5, 2014, at the St John's Hotel, Solihull, Birmingham.

Ellie Pearson, senior professional engagement officer at Brake, says: "It is fantastic that so many companies are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers.

"We have been really impressed with this year's entries and our judges are going to have a tough time choosing the winners. We wish all our finalists the best of luck and look forward to seeing them all at our conference and awards."
