National Windscreens has strengthened its development programme with the appointment of Colin McIntosh as training and compliance manager in Scotland.

McIntosh will be responsible for the development of training programmes for new starters and existing staff, including ensuring employees achieve relevant Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs).

“Skills, training and qualifications are a critical part of National Windscreens continued growth,” said McIntosh.

“We want our employees to be the best in what they do and this ensures our customers know they will receive only the best quality service, which is what they would expect.

“From the induction of new staff through to continued development of existing employees, my role will be to develop the already robust training programme we have in place, ensuring our technicians are qualified, skilled and experienced for everything from windscreen fitting to the installation and calibration of ADAS cameras.”

The company has seen the number of repairs or replacements it has undertaken grow by 444% over the past decade.

This continues to create employment opportunities, particularly for technicians and engineers, through its network of 108 fitting and calibration centres in the UK.

“A highly skilled and qualified workforce is critical for our growth and that means we have to continually review our training programmes to ensure we are always in advance of what our customers require,” said McIntosh.
