What is your biggest achievement in your current role?

How we have changed the way we launch vehicles into the fleet market to influencers, leasing companies and fleet customers. As a result, I think we have greatly improved the perception of Peugeot in the fleet market and established ourselves as a brand on the move.

Which person has had the biggest influence on your career?

Anyone who has said to me that something could not be done, was not achievable or I did not have enough experience to do a job.

What is your dream holiday?

Anywhere hot and where there is no mobile phone reception.

What is your favourite sitcom?

The Inbetweeners (not sure it is a true sitcom) – childish, moronic, outrageous, fantastically funny!

Which is your favourite film?

The Usual Suspects – a great twist at the end which I never saw coming.

What three things would you take with you to a desert island?

I cannot remember the management training course but I think it should be mirror, flashlight and parachute.

What has been your biggest mistake in business?

Not getting rhino posts fitted before a 206 GTi was stolen from the dealership I was running. It taught me that if there is a risk it might happen and it is only a matter of time before it does.

How would you describe your leadership style?

Leading from the front – I like to lead with enthusiasm and by example, with a splash of amusement for good measure. Business can be an enjoyable experience.

What is your favourite childhood memory?

Playing 20-a-side football every summer holiday, seven days a week from dusk to dawn.

When was the last time you took public transport and where were you going?

Four months ago. I took the bus with my children, trying to catch up with my wife running a half-marathon.

What is the first thing you would do if you were made Prime Minister for the day?

Remove the 3% BIK penalty on diesel hybrid models in time for our 3008 Diesel Hybrid launched in Q3 this year.

Which superhero from comics would you most like to be?

I always think superheroes are generally lonely characters so maybe Human Torch from the Fantastic Four would ensure a less lonely existence.

What is your favourite dish at a restaurant?

Foie gras or scallops – the best starters you can ever have.

What would be the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?

Take friends and family to Necker Island for two weeks to try to acclimatise to a luxury lifestyle.

Who was your childhood hero?

Kevin Keegan: a person who was never the best in terms of his natural footballing ability, but his attitude, determination and passion for what he did meant that he maximised his potential to become one of the best footballers in the world.

When did you last feel guilty about the environment?

Every time the recycling bin is full to the brim and I put recyclable waste into the normal bins.

What is your dream car?

My dream car has power and torque in reserve, the economy of a small car and all the features of a top-spec executive vehicle, but for sensible money.

It’s something that’s beautiful, but not crudely flash and something all the family can get into. And guess what – that new Peugeot 508 SW with e-HDi does it for me, and leaves the tax man fuming (it has CO2 at just 109g/km). You wouldn’t expect me to choose anything different, would you?

What has been the pivotal moment in your life?

The birth of my children, who enabled me to completely redefine my priorities in life.
