We have an exciting opportunity for a National Transport Manager to begin their story as part of our Plant Services team based at our Head Office in Carlisle. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hardworking, grounded, and proud of the work they do.

The right candidate will be solutions driven, proactive, possess excellent organisational skills and is able to inspire and motivate in a position of leadership. The role will involve overseeing and managing all transport operations, including budget and supplier management, whilst ensuring compliance with Special Types Goods Order (STGO) Cat 2 regulations. They will lead and develop a team of transport professionals and work closely with other departments to optimise logistics processes while maintaining adherence to safety standards and legal requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Extensive experience of transport management, preferably in the heavy equipment or construction industry.

* To be a CPC holder

* In-depth knowledge of Special Types Goods Order regulations and other relevant transportation laws and regulations

* Strong IT skills in Microsoft packages and Transport Management software

* A proven track record in delivering against deadlines

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

* Experience of Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement
