LONG driver hours and resultant fatigue is the number one concern of fleets, according to the results of a new survey.

A total of 3,000 fleets were questioned and 44% listed driver hours as their main concern.

Close behind were excessive speed (33%), mobile phone use while driving (24%) and vehicle maintenance (21%).

Driver ability was a concern for 17%, and 16% were worried about the roadworthiness of privately owned vehicles used for business. Driver compliance with safety policies and driver aggression both featured in 8% of responses.

The survey was undertaken to mark the launch of a new website from cfc solutions – www.corporateliability.co.uk.

The site is designed to provide a resource for all fleet duty of care and safety issues.
