Pendragon Contracts is joining forces with Trafficmaster to provide fleet tracking and navigation services for customers that it says will help reduce fuel bills by up to 30%.
Within the new agreement fleet directors and managers will benefit from satellite navigation, live traffic information used to calculate the quickest route, stolen vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions.
Combined, these services can help businesses manage drivers better, improve operational efficiencies, cut fuel costs, reduce carbon emissions and enhance customer service.
Fleet managers are able locate drivers in real time on a map viewed on their PC, deliver traffic-avoiding routes direct to the vehicle and find the nearest driver to an address using accurate road distances.
In addition, there is a facility that enables two-way messaging between driver and office, which helps managers know what drivers are currently doing such as taking lunch breaks or still working on a job. There is also the ability to set ring-fences and exception reports so that fleet managers can minimise vehicle misuse and are alerted when a vehicle enters prohibited areas.
The fleet management solution also facilitates vehicle and driver management reports. As a result, fleet operators can manage overtime better, calculate fuel usage and categorise the journey details into business and private mileage.
The programme will be supported by 24/7 dedicated personal assistants, who provide emergency and breakdown help.
