Pressure on fleets driving more businesses to outsource

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions has reported a sharp rise in new business wins, which it says reflects a trend towards increased outsourcing across a variety of industries in both the public and private sector.

The latter part of 2009 saw customer wins for Hitachi Capital worth nearly £22m.

This comprises the management and funding of more than 12,000 cars and commercial vehicles, with new customers from sectors such as utilities, healthcare, and mobile phones.

“Pressure on companies to reduce headcount and minimise spend has encouraged many businesses to start exploring alternatives to internal management and administration of their fleets,” said Simon Oliphant, CEO, Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions.
