Fleet hire and car rental companies took podium position and scooped all the prizes at an all-action ACFO meeting hosted by National Mobile Windscreens at the famous Castle Combe racing circuit in Wiltshire.

A total of 34 companies and organisations were invited to the ACFO South West and Wales regional meeting, including car manufacturers and retailers, tyre companies, vehicle leasing and rental companies and leading insurers.

Delegates were invited to take part in a series of challenges including windscreen repairs, driving skills test, and a performance driving course in Ford Focus ST2 saloons with specialist instructors from the Castle Combe Racing School.

Heather Bright from Fleet Hire, Hampton in Arden, won a magnum of champagne for the most accurate windscreen repair.

Jonathan Slader, branch manager of Thrifty Car & Rental, Exeter, was the overall winner of the Formula Finesse driving test, and won the Driver of the Day title, while Dave Carter, fleet controller from Saint Gobain Building Distribution, Southampton, topped the scoring in the track event.

Martyn Bennett, sales and marketing director at National Mobile Windscreens said: “This was a very successful day which was enjoyed by everyone who welcomed the opportunity of meeting in such an exciting environment.

“They also enjoyed the range of activities available which tested their driving skills and windscreen repair abilities. This provided a great learning environment while having fun at the same time.”
