The introduction of 10 new products in what will be just 18 months in June signifies the aggressive growth strategy in place at Chevrolet. With 9 million units sold worldwide last year, Chevrolet is the fastest growing mainstream brand in Europe.

Showcasing at Geneva is the new Cruze Sport Wagon, including the 1.7 diesel, which Chevrolet believes would be ideal for fleet customers.

“Station wagon is a new entry for us and will open us up more to fleet audiences who need a multi-purpose vehicle. CO2 emissions are enormously important, the 1.7 diesel currently has 119g/km CO2,” said Tom Albright, product planning group manager at Chevrolet.

Due for release in Autumn, the new sport wagon forms part of an aggressive growth strategy for the manufacturer. Although Chevrolet are primarily retail, Albright believes as more models join the line-up, the fleet market share will grow.

“As we develop this full range we are in a stronger position to tackle fleet. We are looking to build our market share, we believe we are well positioned, our focus is on affordable mainstream products,” said Albright.
