Following its recent de-merger from Wolseley, Bathstore has redefined its fleet policy with the assistance of Pendragon Contracts, to introduce both an effective vehicle replacement cycle and fleet management programme, and implement a vehicle choice list based on a whole life cost model.

Pendragon Contracts acted swiftly to work closely with Bathstore to identify several manufacturer vehicles and models that would deliver efficient whole life costings, including Audi, BMW, Ford, Vauxhall and VW, to suit eight employee grades from merchandising up to senior management.

To support the programme, Pendragon Contracts also introduced DAVE, its Driver and Vehicle Extranet, to enable drivers to select and order vehicles aligned to Bathstore’s new car policy and whole life cost initiative, ensuring full compliance across the business and reducing administration time.

Paul Broderick, head of HR at Bathstore, says, “The management of existing vehicles to achieve an effective vehicle replacement cycle was really important.  With its total fleet management proposition and extensive knowledge, Pendragon Contracts reacted quickly and has been a valuable partner in the development of our new fleet policy.”

John Given, sales & marketing director of Pendragon Contracts, adds, “Because of the variety of grades and roles within the organisation our vehicle choice shortlist had to meet several criteria while providing critical whole life cost information to Bathstore.  The exercise has been very effective in redefining and improving its car policy and documentation.”
