FMG has reduced Ingersoll Rand’s incident rate by 20%, saving the company around £50,000, in the first few months of a new contract with the commercial product manufacturer.

Ingersoll Rand has a fleet of 336 vehicles and the three-year deal covers vehicles across the UK and Ireland.

The risk reduction element of the contract uses a variety of techniques, including driver training, aimed at minimising the chance of incidents and therefore protecting staff and company assets.

When incidents do occur, FMG manages the claim to ensure vehicles are repaired to a high standard and returned to a road-worthy condition as efficiently as possible.

Neil Physick, HR services manager at Ingersoll Rand, said: “The holistic approach FMG takes to managing incidents was very important to us.

"FMG has tailored a bespoke risk solution to our fleet, which meets our needs and addresses the unique challenges of our industry, and the benefits are already showing.

"The flexible approach that has been adopted recognises that no two fleets are the same and therefore cannot be treated with a ‘blanket’ plan.”
