Fiat has won a Euro NCAP Advanced award for its city brake control, which automatically brakes to avoid collisions at speeds of up to 19mph.
Since 2010 Euro NCAP Advanced has awarded manufacturers who equip their cars with cutting-edge safety systems which guarantee real benefits for road users.
In the UK, city brake control is standard on the Fiat 500L Trekking and available as an option on Fiat Panda and on the rest of the Fiat 500L range. The active safety system detects the presence of vehicles or obstacles in front of the car and automatically applies the brakes if the driver fails to do so in order to avoid the collision or to reduce its consequences.
