Fleets operators will gain insight into the aftermath of a fatal at-work accident from a fleet manager’s point of view at the Fleet News Congress.

Geoff Wright, will outline his experience of a real-life incident while he was at Lloyds Pharmacy.

“We had a serious road traffic accident in 1991 and I will be talking about the impact on the fleet manager and the organisation from the first phonecall confirming ownership of the vehicle involved to interviews with the police and answering questions from the coroner at the inquest.”

Wright is a previous winner of Van Fleet of the Year and Large Fleet of the Year at the Fleet News awards, and has been in the fleet industry for 26 years, working for Lloyds Pharmacy and AAH Pharmaceuticals.

He also helped in the setting up of the Freight Transport Association’s Van Excellence programme and at one of the first fleet managers to gain accreditation for his company.

The event is being held on October 14 at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire, and is open to fleet operators only.
