Dalziel Mechanical Services, provider of mechanical and electrical construction services, has selected a vehicle tracking and telematics system from Ctrack.

Under the agreement, the company will use Ctrack Online, a web-based tracking tool, across its fleet of vans used to transport engineering teams to and from customer sites in and around the central belt area of Scotland.

Dalziel Mechanical Services will use Ctrack Online to monitor driver behaviour to help encourage improved driving styles and high levels of duty of care.

This will include the tracking of harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, as well as speeding and excess idling. Meanwhile, the company will also use the system to identify any unauthorised or out-of-hours private mileage to comply with HMRC requirements and reduce unnecessary operating costs.

Jamie Delaney, managing director of Dalziel Mechanical Services said: “Ctrack Online will provide an effective means of tracking our fleet, so we can see where all our vehicles are at any one time. This will not only help improve health and safety and duty of care, but also contribute to a reduction in fuel usage, streamlined administrative processes and enhanced customer service.”

John Wisdom, managing director of Ctrack added: “Ctrack Online delivers real advantage by enabling fleets of all sizes to address business critical performance issues as a result of greater operational visibility, control and efficiency. As a result, we are tracking partner of choice for an increasing number of companies looking to boost fleet performance and reduce costs.”
