Northgate Vehicle Hire’s Egham branch has responded to the devastating flood damage across Surrey by donating a vehicle to help support flood victims.
The vehicle has been donated to the Egham, Hythe and Pooley Green Flood Relief charity in a bid to support and comfort the local residents that are currently stranded in their homes due to floodwater.
The charity is working in conjunction with Northgate, St Paul’s Church and TW18 to provide relief to hundreds of local citizens whose homes have been destroyed in the floods.
The vehicle is being used to transport much needed food and supplies for local residents choosing to remain in their homes as an alternative to evacuation.
Donna Shields, hire desk manager at Northgate’s Egham branch, said: “The floods have brought much devastation to the local area and we were keen to show our support to the community in some way.
"The Egham, Hythe and Pooley Green Flood Relief charity is delivering a vital resource to our community during this distressing time.
"We were more than willing to help them provide the much needed food and supplies our local community needs.”
Lisa Mitschka, Egham, Hythe and Pooley Green Flood Relief volunteer, said: “The local area needs all the support it can get at the moment.
"We’re calling on other businesses to help us combat the floods and support our community where possible.
"A big thanks to Northgate for its donation, the vehicle will be a huge help in our mission to support those living in flood damaged homes within the area.”
