SMA Vehicle Remarketing is reporting exceptional levels of volume and conversions along with increased buyer footfall digitally and across their network of auction centres during the first quarter of 2014.

Buyers are keen to increase stock levels and to meet strong levels of consumer demand, it says. And, as one buyer noted: “Over recent years, we have had to stock up to meet buyer’s need to change; now we are stocking to meet a desire to change. Added to the on-going activity and we are extremely busy right now.”

Supporting the desire to increase stocking levels, SMA’s stock funding facility has been very busy since the start of the year.

Whilst demand is exceeding supply, managing director Bob Anderson said: “In the midst of the March/April peak, it is important that all vendors continue to recognise the importance of preparation and quality.

“A complete and accurate condition report and supporting documentation make a real difference, but it is that extra bit of pre-sale preparation that really counts, especially to ensure minor paint rectification is undertaken.

“We are helping to ensure buyers have the funds to buy and we are equally keen to ensure they can buy the quality of stock they want.”
