Former Lex Autolease commercial vehicle director Marcus Puddy has launched fleet advisory and management company Puddy Vehicle Solutions (PVS).

The company will also work with fleet service providers, such as contract hire and leasing companies, to provide a number of solutions from interim roles through to consultancy days supporting an organisation’s desire to grow, work on retention, procurement and selling services to different parts of the UK economy from large corporates to SMEs and brokers.

During his 25-year career, Puddy's responsibilities have included managing the 6,600-strong Lloyds TSB Bank company car fleet along with its 6,000 grey fleet drivers and, most recently, he was commercial vehicle director at Lex Autolease.

PVS’s financial work is being handled by Andrew Hogsden, a chartered accountant with more than 25 years' commercial experience in the asset finance and fleet industries. Most recently he led the Lex Autolease fleet consultancy team for five years.

The Somerset-based company’s core services include:

  • Independent fleet procurement, fleet finance management and consultancy
  • The delivery of fleet solutions that reduce costs and save time
  • Sourcing ‘best in breed’ suppliers for clients
  • Providing a day-to-day fleet management service
  • Vehicle and driver compliance management

PVS is also offering training to all its customers via Somerset Promotion, Learning and Training (SPLAT), a Community Interest Company (CIC) and a social enterprise.

Puddy said: “SPLAT is a great initiative that can support any organisation’s corporate social responsibility objectives and it is a privilege to be involved. All of SPLAT’s generated profits are reinvested in helping people. The goal is that for every person PVS trains, SPLAT will train a disadvantaged person and PVS is proud to be a part of this programme.”
