Teletrac Navman is supporting road safety charity Brake as corporate donors, to coincide with Road Safety Week.

The collaboration with Brake represents the first stage of Teletrac Navman’s campaign to improve road safety among fleet drivers, through the use of increased monitoring and technology.

Teletrac Navman has a range of product solutions, including its fleet management Director platform, which allows fleet managers to assess and analyse their vehicles on a second-by-second basis.  Director is used by the majority of Teletrac Navman customers to monitor driver behaviour, such as speeding and harsh braking and accelerating, and the data is then used to improve the performance of fleet drivers, thus reducing potential incidents.

Teletrac Navman also offers other solutions such as 360 degree cameras to give businesses an overview of their fleet operations.  Cameras are particularly critical for vehicles operating in major cities, as drivers can watch out for other road users such as cyclists who may be in a blind spot.

Peter Millichap, director of marketing at Teletrac Navman, said: “Businesses have a duty of care to their employees as well as the general public to ensure their vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and are driven safely at all times whilst on the road.

“Teletrac Navman advises its customers on best practice and how to remain compliant within the law, but we also want to support charities such as Brake, who undertake a great deal of work to improve safety for all road users.”

Abi Smith, corporate fundraiser at Brake, said: “Brake is delighted that Teletrac Navman has chosen to support us, as part of their wider commitment to road safety.

“As part of our work to raise road safety awareness, we work closely with fleet operators to improve the safety of at-work drivers; it’s very encouraging that Teletrac Navman is also working towards the same aim.

“Teletrac Navman has joined us at the start of our national Road Safety Week, which raises awareness of road risk amongst all road users; Road Safety Week will act as the perfect springboard for Teletrac Navman’s fleet safety awareness raising campaign.”
