Tom Brennan has been named as the new head of fleet sales for Audi UK.

The manufacturer’s former national contract hire and leasing manager replaces James Douglas, who was appointed head of sales for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, last month.

Brennan has held a variety of key roles in the finance and leasing sector and during ten years with Volkswagen Financial Services became its key interface with Audi UK as general manager Audi Finance.

The car manufacturer said that the position gave him a broad base of knowledge of the sales channels, and the monetary and contractual framework behind them, helping his transition into the Audi fleet sales team in 2013.

Audi UK has posted 13 annual sales records since 2000, with fleet sales playing its part. Brennan said: “We don’t find ourselves in this fortunate position by accident. It’s the result of incredibly hard work by everyone in the fleet sales team, but also of outstanding leadership by James for which we are all very grateful.

“I’m greatly looking forward to picking up the baton he carried so expertly and pushing us to even greater success in the years to come.”

Brennan will report into head of Audi sales operations Peter Brookes, who acknowledged the contribution he has already made to the brand’s fleet success.

He said: “I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Tom on his appointment. He has been an integral member of the sales operations team, playing a key role in supporting the brand’s dominance in true fleet. He will be a fantastic addition to the leadership team.”
