Fleet & Mobility Live, the biggest exhibition show in the fleet calendar, opened its doors yesterday (Tuesday, October 11) at the NEC in Birmingham.

The event, which has been curated by the Fleet & Mobility Live Visitor Advisory Board (VAB) and is supported by headline sponsor SMS, features a packed schedule of presentations from key industry stakeholders and continues today (Wednesday, October 12).

This is a strictly “no sales pitch” event and the majority of presentations will come from fleet managers doing the job that have made good progress with innovative initiatives or who just want to help by sharing their journey so far with the wider fleet community.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are such a big topic that it has its own dedicated theatre that will feature seminar sessions to cover every major area to help all delegates prepare their fleet for a zero emissions future.

The Benefits Box is also back and is aimed at helping fleet, HR and finance executives that have involvement or responsibility for fleet activities gain vital advice on developing fleet and mobility benefits. This area of the show will help delegates understand the implications and opportunities offered by salary sacrifice, cash vs car and the latest mobility innovations.

Matthew Hammond, Altrad UK, Ireland and Nordics fleet manager, said: “The show gives you a chance to catch up with a lot of your peers you might not have seen for a while.

“It’s nice to have that face to face interaction rather than just a Zoom meeting. It’s also perfect for catching up with the industry to see the latest developments over the last 12 months.”

Julie Madoui, fleet manager Kier Fleet Services, said: “The presentations are really good and give you a deep understanding of what is happening in the industry.”

Colin Jones, Cancer Research UK fleet manager, said: “It’s a great opportunity to network with a lot of potential suppliers.

“We attended the show in 2021 as we were going out to tender so it was great to come along to look at potential options for the latest vehicles and leasing company partners.”

Amanda Bullough, Siemens benefits lead EMEA, said: “It offers the chance to hear from fleet professionals and game changers in the industry and listening to views and guidance can help inform your own role in the fleet.”

A selection of key fleet models will also by displayed by leading car and van manufacturers, including the new BMW iX1, the Ford e-Transit and the Genesis Electrified GV70.
