Fleet News has become the official media partner for the 2020 Amazon Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards, which celebrate outstanding female talent in the sector.

The awards, which are due to take place virtually on October 6, recognise women in the industry at all stages of their career, from those who go above and beyond the call of duty in their role to leaders in organisations, as well as male agents of change within the industry.

Sixty individuals are in the running for this year's awards, which now have a global reach thanks to the introduction of an international inspiration award (see the full list of finalists here).

Fleet News editor-in-chief Stephen Briers said: “We are delighted to support the Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

“Women are still under-represented in the fleet sector, and transport in general, and the awards have an important role to play in recognising female talent, celebrating success and encouraging more women to join the sector or progress to leadership positions.”

Everywoman co-founder Maxine Benson said: “We are thrilled to welcome Fleet News as a partner for the 2020 Amazon Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

“With the coronavirus outbreak shining a spotlight on how crucial our transport and logistics sector is, celebrating role models and creating a strong pipeline of female talent is more important now than ever before.

“With its extensive reach within the fleet industry, we know that Fleet News will offer valuable support in enabling us to do this.”

This year's ceremony will use pre-filmed elements, as well as switching live to the winners and finalists, and guests will be able to network in a number of different ways including at their table, at the ‘bar area’, through chat functions and by exchanging virtual business cards.
