The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has been named as a finalist in two categories in the Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards 2015.

The FLTA’s annual awards was recognised in the Event of the Year category for its 21st outing, held in February 2015 at the Telford International Centre. The event’s winners were revealed in front of what the FLTA said was its biggest audience ever.

Alongside this, the FLTA safety conference was named a finalist in the conference of the year category, in recognition of an "exceptional" peer-to-peer learning programme. The event featured case studies from managers and supervisors who successfully improved their organisations’ safety records.

“Ahead of anything else,” said FLTA Chief Executive Peter Harvey, “our primary objective has been and remains to be raising industry standards for the good of the 1,000,000 people in the UK whose work involves fork lift trucks.

“Events like these allow us to do just that. While the Safety Conference lets us inform and motivate those responsible for making sites safer, our awards allows us to recognise those pioneers raising standards across the industry."

He concluded: “So we are always looking for ways to improve our events to ensure they are truly engaging and inspirational.”
