Vehicle leasing company Leasys has partnered with a mobility solutions provider to offer a new short-term rental service to its customers.

Through the partnership, Leasys’ customers will be able to rent a car or commercial vehicle outside of their main leasing agreement for personal or business use for between one and 28 days.

The new short-term rental service, says Leasys, will enhance the range of services it offers in the UK, as part of the company’s ambition to deliver efficient and effective solutions that cover the full spectrum of mobility needs.

Matthew Boswell, managing director of Leasys UK, said: “We are excited to be launching this service, allowing us to expand our customer offering and provide even greater flexibility through this new and comprehensive short-term rental service.”

Stellantis announced the creation of Leasys, a new multi-brand leasing company, which is a 50/50 joint venture with Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance, last year, with the consolidation of Leasys and Free2move Lease.

Stellantis says it wants Leasys to become the European leasing leader, reaching a fleet of one million vehicles by 2026.

In the UK, it was ranked 10th in the latest FN50, operating a risk fleet of 50,000-plus cars and vans.

Fleet News spoke to Sebastiano Fedrigo, the former Leasys UK managing director who was appointed to oversee the merger, and became international markets director in April 2023, last year.

At the time, Fedrigo said he expected Leasys to surpass the 100,000 benchmark by the end of 2026 in the UK, potentially moving Leasys up to sixth place in the FN50.
