Audi is planning to introduce its On Demand mobility service to UK businesses next year.

The intiative has this month been launched for retail customers, and allows customers to hire cars from its franchised dealers from £70 a day.

Initially operating on a pilot basis from the Oldham Audi facility near Manchester, the service enables drivers to use various Audi models for periods ranging from one hour to 28 days for an all-in-fee.

The scheme will expand to two further sites this month - Edinburgh and Glasgow - and these will be followed by Newcastle and Birmingham in September.

It will continue to roll-out to sites in further cities to establish a nationwide network in the longer term.

The initial service is for retail customers, but Audi plans to introduce Audi On Demand for business and residential use in 2019.

Andrew Doyle, director of Audi UK, said: "(Audi On Demand) neatly packages convenience, flexibility and ease of use into every booking and enables our customers to tap into a bespoke experience that is fitting of the Audi brand and maintains the exceptionally high levels of service that we are committed to from start to finish.

"The traditional model of ownership is consistently evolving and this innovative concept firmly puts Audi UK ahead when it comes to meeting consumer demand and transforming into a digital premium car company."

Audi models available under On Demand include Sportbacks, saloons, SUVs and coupes from the A1, A3, A4, A5, Q3 and Q5 ranges.
