Volkswagen is now acceping orders for the facelifted version of its ID3 electric car.
Prices for the new model start at £37,155.
Two battery sizes and trims are available: the 58kWh Pro and the 77kWh Pro S.
Both models are powered by a 204PS electric motor that drives the rear wheels. The Pro has a range of 266 miles, while the Pro S can cover 347 miles.
The Pro is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and heated front seats.
Pro S models are priced from £42,870 and come fitted with 19-inch wheels and are only available in a four-seat configuration.
A number of option packs are available, grouping key items of equipment to simplofy ordering.
Updates to the popular model are entered around improving the quality of the car’s interior and updating the on-board technology.
There are also some visual changes that give the car a sportier look and include restyled bumpers and a new bonnet.
New ID3 models will be shipped with VW’s latest ID operating system software, which is expected to overcome a lot of the glitches that plagued early models of the car.
The 10-inch central infotainment system screen and 5.3-inch instrument cluster display will remain in UK-spec cars from launch, while European models will be fitted with an updated 12-inch central display.
VW has added a new Plug & Charge function – where the vehicle authenticates itself and starts the charging process when the charging cable is plugged in at a charging station. The navigation system has also been updated to factor in charging stops when planning a route.
A new 12.9-inch infotainment display will become standard from mid-2024 and will feature a backlit panel for the audio volume and climate controls.
In other areas of the facelift, VW says it has responded to customer feedback and enhanced the quality of interior materials. New door panel inlays with softer padding and ambient lighting form part of the changes. The car maker has also opted to use more recycled materials.
